Bye bye 60, hello 75!

So this place has given myself tons of information even before I was a member. I feel like my brain will explode from all the knowledge that has been given on these forums. So with that, on to the good stuff!

Tearing down the 60gal (48x12x24) which is the worst tank for me, atleast, to aquascape. Not that I'm any good but I try!

Right now it has about 5 rainbow fish and about 6 cherry barbs. Also a few shrimp and tons of snails. CO2, planted + and dirt.

I picked up the 75 for 80$ and will build the stand myself.

Plans are:
3x bosemani (going to add more)
1x millennium
6x cherry barbs (want a school of atleast 30)
Of course some corys, shrimp and snails.

Plants on the way:
Java fern
Java moss
Anubias nana petite
Crypt wendtii red
Crypt lucens
Crypt blassi
Red tiger lotus
Rotala rotundifolia
Bacopa caroliniana

Will add some driftwood and some brown rocks (not sure what they are but got them at the LFS)

Substrate will change. I tried dirt and loved the growth but pruning and pulling just made my pfs so dirty. Going with seachem regular fluorite, why? Cause I can, that's why! I will dose EI and have root tabs.

Lights will be a 48" planted plus on top of the tank with eggcrate underneath to start.

Co2 injected with homemade Rex Griggs reactor (2'x22") but size may change.

I'll try to post many images as that's why you came here!

Stands not done but screwing around with an idea!

Thanks! I'm getting antsy but I need to take my time and not rush it like the 60. Besides, 2 kids and a wife don't make it any easier!

Just had a little time to continue-

Still have all the cedar slats and trim to do.

All fish in temporary tank and the goyder river rainbow the kids got me in the hospital tank.

Also since everyone has been very kind got some boxes for some RAOK's.

Almost done with the cabinet. Still needs some more trim work and paint. Overall I'm happy with it even though a true carpenter/craftsman could point out every mistake. Putty is my buddy.

My daughter playing in it. Both kids think it's the greatest thing ever!

Going to work on the reactor tonight as well as some smaller things. Hopefully tomorrow I can start putting it all together!!

Started early in the morning, last day of a long vacation from the real world.

Tank in position

Drain and fill, drain and fill aaaaand one more for good measure! Fluorite is some dirty stuff. Even after a good rinse.

Was kind of leary on this rock/wood scape

But now that I have plants in it, looks way better. Still have plants on the way to fill in the empty spaces

That's it for now!

Just got all the plants in. Going to let everything grow in before I really know where I want take this

Image of the reactor I made. Doesn't sound like any air is trapped so far. I'm at 30psi pushing 8 bubble per sec. Fish seem fine and have been checking ph ever hr with an API drop test kit (pinpoint ph meter will be here Friday.

Technically it's an aquatop (I believe it's the same filter as a sunsun). The model number is CF400uv. Also have a cf300 laying around that needs a new impeller.

It's a nice filter. Never had any issues except when I broke the tab to detach the hoses from the filter. And for some reason the baskets get stuck inside and I have to use pliers to pull them out.

Well it's been awhile since the last update. Been busy and really haven't had time to keep track but here is a new picture with updates-

From today

So I covered the fluorite with some gravel and a bit of sand. It was way to dark and brownish. Not sure how I feel but once the plants grow in, you won't see much plus I'm sure some algae will darken it a bit.

Lost a few fish but add a few more (10 tiger barbs, will add maybe 10 more later).

Had to mess with my lighting and co2 since I was getting bba. And I'm still tweaking it. The bba has defiantly slowed/stopped.
