Shifted from T5HOs to custom LEDs

So I decided to change lights from T5HOs to LED. The LED fixture has 60 3w emitters which is a mix of white, warm white, blue, red, green.

I was expecting the plants to acclimate and have some sort of a negative reaction from the change. The first 6 days were all about growth and the Ludwigia inclinata's new growth is showing redness as well as some of the sprouts of polysperma. Hope the Limnophila aromatica will blush too soon.

So far, so good after the change into full spec custom LED.

This is, by the way, my first attempt to a planted tank after I resumed (from more than 10 yrs ago) the fishkeeping hobby this summer.

Can you share more details on led build? Did you put it together yourself?

Yeah, really nice. I've not seen an LED array set like this recessed in glass? Interesting. This is an inspirational aquarium scene you have created. Thank you for sharing

Unfortunately, I have no engineering skills. This one I asked help from a co-hobbyist. It's just I think parallel connection to a LED driver.

Thank you! The emitters are embedded in laser cut holes from a sheet of acrylic to fit the collimators. The emitters are glued into a heatsink alloy.

Yes, we demand more pictures of this led

My guess is that a lot of people here are thinking about diy led or at least considered it at one point... It would be nice if your friend could share more details on the build.
