Pmasa's 60l - first aquascape

Hey guys. So i had to move my tank from one room to the other this weekend and decided whilst i was draining it i might as well have an attempt at doing an aquascape. After many hours of cleaning out the tank and chasing shrimplets i didn't know i had, i finally got the basics of my scape done. Unfortunately the plants won't arrive till tuesday.

Substrate:
- Ada aquasoil amazonia
- Gravel (cant remeber what it is called)

Plants (when they come):
- micranthemum 'monte carlo'
- rotala colarato
- anubias barteri var. Nana 'petite'
- liliopsis novaezlandie
- helanthium sp 'vesuvius'

Livestock (once ammonia sorts itself out):
- darwin algae shrimp
- red cherry shrimp
- neon tetra

Lighting: aqua one plant grow (60 cm)
Filter: eheim classic 2215

Sorry for the potato quality

I wish you luck on this, I tried to divide the sand on an old tank and after a few months or so, it all just mixed up into one multi coloured sand. In the end I tried again and reduced the suction on the syphon to clean the sand without sucking it all out of the tank.

Thanks, i put a lot of support into the aquasoil to try and maintain shape. I am hoping once the plants go in (and hopefully carpet) it will stabilize and won't be heaps of work.

I'l keep checking this post to see how it's coming on, it will be good to see when it's all filled, to see how the sand reacts, especially on the higher points at the ends.
Just make sure you give the sand a good prod with a stick every now and then as it's very thick...some MTS would be useful maybe (If you can stand them.) ;-)

Looking good, the contrast in rocks is actually very nice. Would you not consider cardinal tetras instead of neon? I suppose it's all down to opinion really, I just find Cardinals a prettier and more active fish.
