Anchlo's ADA 60p journal

Ok here is yet another 60p journal. I've been absent from the hobby for several years but have recently had the opportunity to get back into it!

Here's the equipment:

ADA 60p

-Eheim 2213 (got it cheap but may upgrade later)
-Ikea besta stand. Fits perfectly.
-DIY 1/2" conduit light stand
-Ohko stone 4 pieces
-Spider wood. A really cool piece.
-Amazonia substrate
-Azoo regulator
-10lb co2 tank feeding this tank plus two others.

I still have yet to get a light and someway to react the co2....

Please give me suggestions on a light... was looking at maybe Catalina?

Also looking at the GLA in line diffuser?

I am using an in tank heater due to my experience with an Hydor in line heater that malfunctioned and overheated the tank!

That's crazy how perfectly the tank fits the stand! Gonna have to set one of these up in the future. Can you link me to the model that fits? I'm assuming it's like ~24"x~12" footprint, but I only see double the length...maybe I'll just get two! Haha

Hmm I would say try and find a way to make the rocks work with the driftwood, cus they sort of feel like opposing forces right now.

Possibly or use one to make an island in the open space. Play around with it and see if you get something you like.

Face the rocks out from the base of the wood. It might give it a pleasant look. Maybe mess with the orientation of the wood after that.

Ok... I'm semi satisfied with the final layout....

I also swapped the eheim heater with a less bulky hydor heater.. I had a Hydor in line heater fail on me and was left with hot water and dead fish... never again!

Installed the lily pipes, korila nano circulation pump... I'm still worried the 2213 will not be enough flow though... I'm installing a Sera reactor on it also which will also cut the flow down.

Lastly I ordered all tissue cultured plants on line... never worked with them before so I'm a little worried...

Here's the final scape...

Got the plants today....

I ordered from Aquarium Plant online...

I went with the vitro line of Monte Carlo, DHG, pogostemon erectus and a few more.... word of advice...

DO NOT ORDER VITRO PLANTS! I had a horrendous time, getting the gel out and getting the plants to take hold in the substrate! The problem is that the is virtually NO ROOTS! Not to mention the plants are so tiny. The vast majority of what I ordered was unusable and went to the trash. I literally ruined the slopes just trying to get the plants to take hold. I would rather deal with snails than to use tissue cultured plants.

Here's a few pics... I am seriously contemplating tearing this down and redoing it....

I love tissue plants. They're clean, safe and there's so many in one cup. Just have to learn how to plant them. For me it went good even first time.
