Week 18, 19, & 20

Excuse the lack of updates due to busy school. Things are growing well! The glosso carpet is coming back full, and the new stem plants like the Hygrophila and the Ludwigia are growing enough to start propagation. The Staurogyne has rooted and is starting to gain some height. Most importantly, the Rotala macrandra is becoming a really nice bunch; though it looks small in the last photo, they will grow up well for sure.

I had also added some cherry shrimps! I'll try to take some photos of them -- they are quite small.

Finally, I'm thinking of entering into IAPLC or some other competition, so I might have to take the pictures down until the contest is over .

Week 21 - 02/15/2017

Some GSA again, which I am still trying to solve by messing with nutrient ratios and quantities. The shrimps are doing well as far as I know .

That's a pretty tank! Looks like an old school Amano (circa 2000) setup.

Thank you! I can kinda see what you mean, as those early Amano works used the plants more than the hardscape to create structure of the piece.
There wasn't many hardscaping material available around me to work with, so I was left with simply the plants to carve out depth and focal points .

I'm just a little behind.....this is a picture from 2 months ago . It is currently in the same state except ridiculously overgrown.

As summer is starting and I will be tearing it down soon, I need get these plants outta here. If anyone is interested to buy them, PM me!

Thanks! I really worked on it over the few years I had .

And yes I love it when the crypts grow out! They are truly the perfect mid-ground plant for creating transitions. The only thing I hate about them is their massive root system and their sending runners EVERYWHERE, which can be a pain to take out in rescaping. Because of this, I'm always a bit hesitant to use crypts, though the results are amazing.
