Julie's Fluval Spec V

I've had the tank for awhile but finally actually scaped it. I'll update here with the growth and progress. The photos are from today, just planted.
Tank: Fluval Spec V
Light: Aquatic t5 HO light fixture w/ 18W white bulb and 18W roseate.
Substrate: ADA AquSoil Amazonia
Hardscape: Ryuoh stone & some unknown wood (?)
CO2: DIY CO2 with the Nutrafin kit
Flora: Glosso
Windelov fern
Java fern
Java moss
Anubias petite
Dwarf Saggitaria
Hygro pinnatifida

First of all, I have no idea if I like the tank with no background or black. Opinions?

For now I have black, here's a closer look, sorry about the quality.

And some plants, most are low light except glosso, so I'm thinking 7 hours of light. Tips?

I actually got 3 pots of glosso on clearance for 3.99. I saved most of it, the rest was mush.

Very nice design. I like the black background but it looks good either way. I can't help with the photoperiod length though because I am not too familiar with high-tech setups

Tank is cute!

I'm not a fan of dark backgrounds. When the lights are turned off, the back of the tank looks like a black hole. If you like though, keep it.

As for your photo period, I'd leave it for now and adjust later if need be.

Looks nice. It sounds like a lot of light for that setup. I would reduce to 5-6 or run one bulb 6-7 and the other 1-2 hrs (not sure if you can with that fixture)

Unfortunately the light is unable to do that but I will run it for 5 hours. Thanks for letting me know.
