Pics and links will come soon. I almost have the thing planted I just need to finish cleaning the flourite dust out of the water and off the glass.
So to continue the saga of the tank...
Week 1: i spent the entire week trying flocculation and cleaning the filter floss twice a day to get the Flourite dust out of the aquarium. I regret not thoroughly washing this stuff until i would want to drink the water in the bucket. I did get it to all settle down as is shown in the pics below.
Week 2: Once it was more under control, I put in the driftwood I bought from a guy who was taking down his tank in Tucson. It worked out quite well actually. I set rocks on top of the pieces that float. Next was taking down the 10G temp tank i was running. I needed to get all of the plants out, cleaned up and situated in their new home. Well I forgot how much plant mass I smashed into a 10G. I have about 50 pieces of hornwart that were replanted. I hand cleaned eeach of them to remove detritus and algae. The next step was to clean, trim, and separate a huge mat of JF. I ended up with large a mount of small JF plants, the large ones I planted the small ones are still in a bucket. I may try growing them outside until they get bigger at least. I cleaned and dipped all of the anubias and sandwiched them in random places under things. There are a number of plants UNDER the driftwood stump that looks like a poodle IMO. I will take more detailed pics sometime but you can get an idea. It basically took two days to get all of the plants trimmed and cut to be ready to plant.
Have you ever seen a French Ninja? NO because they are sneaky.
