45g Soon to be planted tank.

Well was in my LFS and I started talking to one of the employers, who ironically sent me to this website (Blotp777). Great guy knew a lot about what he was talking about etc. So here I am! and here my journal begins.

I currently have a couple gourmais, had 6 but one recently got dropsy and well, went to fish tank heaven you could say. So 5 gourmai, pearl, blue and well the other ones is an orangery one. Also have a ghost shrimp, black mystery snail, and an algae eater (they are my clean up crew). Also have, 6 tetra, 2 mollys and 2 ghost catfish, and well that's the population of my tank currently. I might soon be adopting 4 guppies from my girlfriend because she needs more room and well they breed like crazy as you know.

Anyway, back to the tank. I currently just redesigned it, and due to my lack of money, only have currently my rocks set up and some moss and a java fern.

Before you say something about the first picture, I know they are semi-aquatic and were removed from my tank . Gotta love petco and the lack of knowledge I had at the time.

Fish are really enjoying the new aquascape, Once I can afford (or some how obtain) a lot of plants I feel they will be happier. Well...thats my intro, umm I'm excited to meet everyone here and communicate and well yeah.

Thanks for reading,

Paul

This is going to be short, sorry I am not home so I do not know all the details. I recently got it off craigslist from an owner who had chichlids and I converted it to a tropical fish tank, but anyway.

- AquaClear 110 series, with sponge, carbon and bio layer.
- Stander 36" fluorescent bulb (over two years old needs to be replaced badly!)
- Submersible heater

Well that's about it, nothing special, waiting to save up some money to buy a lot of plants and a new bulb for my tank, oh and some ferts and root tabs.

Today I bought some prime and some higher quality food for my fish. Hoping they are more active and what not.

You could try looking into a RAOK (Random Act Of Kindness) in the Swap and Shop section of this forum. What is the wattage of you lighting? Like the new 'scape!
