Great looking betta! What lighting and plants do you plan to use?

Thanks, I have a bright blue Betta too...
Lighting: 7 watt came with the kit, with the filter.
Plants: I'm not sure, any suggestions.
BTW: Need ideas for fish. All I know is that I will have shrimp for sure.
Maybe a snail?

I would suggest some easy to care for plants, like anubias' and java fern. As for more fauna, shrimp and bettas don't mix. Snails, and maybe an Otto or two would work?

I have another tank for the Betta. The Betta is the fish I'm using to cycle the tank.

Might look into Ottos... Would Ottos and shrimp work instead of a snail?

monitor the nitrites and ammonia, i found found the usual process is between 4 and 6 weeks, please do not over feed in the mean time though, as it will only set the cycle back with every water change, 3 times a week at most.

4 to 6 weeks!!!!
I am so impatient, you have no clue... it will be torture to wait that long.
Lets just hope the ammonia and nitrite doesn't take that long to settle..!
