New to the forum here and am learning so much from everybody. I would like to use this as a bit of an intro as well as a journal of my new tank.
My experience thus far is a lightly planted 38 gallon hex. No special care just basic water changes and natural cycles.
The new is a standard 55g
-2x emperor 400 hob filters
-finnex 48" planted + 24/7
-100 lbs of Eco complete making 3-4 inches of substrate
-power head 350gph
-aqua clear air pump
-drift wood and rocks compliments of Lake Erie
Currently I have the drift wood and rocks treated and in the tank currently cycling with my medium pleco 3 plattys and 2 mollies.
I have a bunch of plants on the way. I was holding out for warmer weather and it's gonna be a whopping 60 degrees in buffalo this week!
My dosing is going to be made up of the line of seachem products. Flourish excel potassium iron etc. Both filters contain seachem matrix in all 4 media slots and a purigen pouch in each.
Any tips along the way would be greatly appreciated. I plan to get into cheaper dry ferts as well as co2 which at that point I will add an additional 24/7 staggering cycle times by 1 hour.
P.s. Would a 5-6" pleco be a problem with uprooting? If so I'll move him back to my other tank.
