Hello everyone, this is my third scape with this tank, and I'm hoping it'll be the best
I think it's about 9-10 days in, haven't been keeping track. The tank is a 75P and I'm using a 150w MH with an ADA bulb. You can find all the other specs in past journals (in signature), or you can just ask.
I'm going for a lot of different greens here, both in texture and shade. I don't think my vision will start to come together until it fills in a good bit.
I started with the light 18" off the surface to avoid any algae. The N-Cycle is entirely complete, took about 7-8 days. <3 Bio-Rio. Now that the cycle is finished, its about 14" up. The photoperiod started at 5 hours and is still there. Hoping to lower it to 12" soon and up the pp to 6 hours as theres no sign of algae.
The only thing suffering is the HC. Two reasons: it couldn't handle the low light what with the halide 18" up or so, and I didn't anticipate having that mini koralia in the back left corner and the HC wasn't planted too deep. Sooo lots of it flew up in the first couple days, and some of it couldn't handle the XP3 and the koralia hitting it all day and broke off it's roots. I'm planning on hitting my LFS for some more this weekend; gonna replant it DEEP. The stuff that is alive pearls, so it should grow just fine. I was worried that the HC would fill in too quickly anyway compared to the rest of the stock:
-Mini christmas moss
-Needle leaf java fern
-Rotala sp 'green'
-E. tenellus 'micro'
The water is still a bit foggy from the tannins, threw in some carbon and it's helping. Been doing either 50% WC's every other day, or if I can get around to it, 30% everyday. Dosing nothing but a touch of this and that here and there; pretty much nothing. Pics are from a crappy P&S so I apologize for the quality. Without further ado...
Pre setup hardscape shots-
Rotala sp 'green' in the back right corner. Planted them as 2'' stems, maybe shorter.
Some diffuser action
From below. Building any suspense yet?
Ah here we are
Any questions on anything, don't hesitate to ask. I hope to get some CLEARER full tank shots soon, I hate how yellow and green tinted these photos are, the water's crisp as hell in person. Hope you like!
