My experience with common ramshorns is that they reproduce like duckweed. I am aware of marine acclimated to fresh nerites. Any others I should look into?

For what purposes? Algae control? Scavenging?

Algae control wise, nerites are a great choice. But they tend to lay unsightly eggs around the tank that will never hatch.

Sulawesi snails are cool, but I'm not sure what type of care requirements they need.

Scavenging wise, I like mystery snails.

Pond and trumpet snails are my go-to for shrimp tanks because they stay a manageable size (I don't like my clean up crew being larger than the organisms I'm feeding). However if ramshorns overpopulate for you, these are almost bound to. But in a properly fed shrimp tank, there shouldn't be such an abundance of resources as to cause this.
