Earlier today I looked up dosing KH2P04, Mono Potassium Phosphate and K2so4, Potassium Sulfate on Rotala Butterfly.
I am trying to mix into 1000 ml. of distilled water: 15 tsp of the K2so4, Potassium Sulfate and 4tsp of the KH2P04, Mono Potassium Phosphate.
But it has been about 2 hours and there is still white powder that doesn't seem to want to dissolve.
The tank is 135 gallons, no co2, 20 to 30 ppm nitrate, 2x95 watt compact fluorescents and 2x55 watt compact fluorescents, one AI Prime at 45%
I was planning on dosing 5ml every other day.
The result of the dose into 135 gallons should be P&P04 at .2 ppm and K at .48 ppm.
I am just trying to get the ball rolling with the auto dosing, but 15 tsp of the K2so4, Potassium Sulfate into 1000 ml of water
seemed like a lot for such a small .48ppm gain.
I checked and checked again, but Rotala Butterfly keeps saying the same thing.
Does this sound about right?
I am dosing CSM+B and that seems to be working out just fine.
5mL dose into a 135 gal tank is where your issues are. Try aiming for a larger dose = less needed to dissolve. You'll have to mix up batches more often, but the doses will be more stable and accurate, and you'll be able to get the products to dissolve properly.
You can try some acid in the mixing bottle to lower pH slightly... might help dissolve more....
