Could be melting bc it was emersed grown. Could be overcrowded and lack of lighting. Could be unhappy if it's used to fertilizer and not getting now. If aglae had grown on you lid and is blocking light. Lack of other nutrients in tank causing it to effectively cannibalize lower older growth to feed new growth.
