excell and vals

does excell melt vals? in particular corkscrew vals?
i just planted a bunch of corkscrews and they all seem to be melting. i gave a high dose if excell when i first planted them to give them a little boost. so i'm not sure if the plants are melting because of the excell or just because they were recently transplanted. any one have any ideas?

Excel does kill vals. But, I found that if I stick with the bottle recommended dosage, or a little less, the vals will regrow and do fine. I also found that vals tend to die back when you first plant them even if you don't use Excel. But, again, they grow back easily.
