Is adding potassium chloride safe?

Hey Guys thanks for help on choosing the substrate. I am going with dirt. I have remineralized the soil and have mixed it with some laterite soil.

Tank size [5 feet, 212.37 litres/56.1 gallon(US)].
Length 5 feet, height 1.5 feet(18 inches), depth 1.5 feet(18 inches). Substrate dirt with gravel cap, 2 .5 inches.

Majorly i will have HC (cuba) carpet or montecarlo and few other.

I wanted to know is adding potassium chloride safe and in what proportion?

Excess chloride will in my experience brown the edges of leaves. Having a quick look at my previous notes, the problems probably start somewhere around 4 ppm (accumulated concentration) of chloride.

Feel free to edit.

Use K2SO4 for extra potassium when dosing the water column
