EDTA iron is better in lower pH water.
DTPA iron is better if the pH is a bit higher.

If you can get the DTPA-Fe that would be better. Stays available to plants longer. If you cannot find DTPA-Fe, then the EDTA-Fe will work, but it will probably break down faster, so get bound up sooner.

Ok thanks for that info

Last question, do o need to dose iron every day? Every other day? Or what is the suggested dosing regime for iron.

You need to provide adequate amounts of all of the basic nutrients that the plants need to grow, or the growth rate will be stunted by the absence of even one of those nutrients. That's why we dose a trace element mix instead of just dosing iron. If you feel the amounts of the trace elements we usually dose is too much, just dose less, and dose some extra iron if that is what you want. Of course I don't know why you wanted just iron.

Dose daily or every other day. Even chelated iron can disappear in just a day. If you are dosing phosphates, then I would alternate iron one day and phosphates the next.
Phosphorus and iron can combine into an insoluble compound.
