Dosing Dry Ferts using Automatic Feeders

Has anyone used automatic feeders in order to dose dry ferts?

I'm sure there would be similar issues arising in regards to the feeders pouring out different amounts like they would with flake food but I figured ferts are usually the uniform in size.

I think this would be neat, although most feeders are meant for daily spins which would only really allow you to dose one type.

It would be difficult to control the amount of fertilizer added, as you mentioned. Furthermore, sometimes the amounts required are so tiny (i.e. 1/16 of a teaspoon), that it would be difficult for the automatic feed to even achieve this.

An easier way that most people use for automated dosing is to prepare stock solutions and have a peristaltic pump feed in the appropriate volumes.

I have had great success with the peristalsic pump method. In addition to the issues Darkblade48 mentioned, I also imagine that you would run into problems with the dry chemicals clumping together from humidity.
