Calculating EI doses?

So for my old 40g, I just, honestly, followed the little sticker that came with the GLA ferts, which I stuck to my red-solo cup labeled ferts, to a tee. Not very glamorous but it worked. But now I'm at the point the little sticker doesn't tell me what to do. And as much as I want to say I know a lot about fertilizers I know nothing. Only thing I did differently was I only did micros twice a week vs three times a week like the sticker says. M W F was macros, Tues & Sat were micros, Thursday was Iron, due to a fear of overdosing micros. Then 50%+ water change on Sunday.

How do I go about calculating for 120g? Do I count the approx. 40 gallons of water in the sump too?

I'd appreciate any help. When it comes to fertilizers I'm not very good. I can tell what deficiencies are what in my tank with the plants I'm comfortable with, but I don't know how to form a base line on what to dose.

Count the water in the sump.

If you think the 120 has similar lighting and fish load to the 40, then simply triple what you were doing for the 40.
Monitor it. If things are not going well, then start asking what you should change.

If the 40 is still running then test with all the tests you have right before a water change. Then see it following the same fertilizing schedule will produce the same results in the 120.
It might not.
The plants might use more or less fertilizer because they are newly planted, or the light is different, or you have different species.
The fish food might contribute more or less fertilizer depending on how much you feed.
