I think I am overdosing c02 but I'm not sure. I am running 5bps into a powerhead 201 and I have that aiming at the intake of my Rena XP3 in my 75g. I don't have my drop checker yet to know for sure. I am running the lights for about 12 hours a day to start. 2x65watt 10k and one 65watt 67k(one just went out). Its a new tank that and has been running a little over a week. I was using and air stone with my co2 up until yesterday. Thats when I hooked it up to my powerhead. I do not have many plants in there ATM. A lace plant, wisteria, water sprite, oak leaf, dwarf sag grass, HC and dwarf hairgrass. The water sprite is melting, along with some of the oak leaf. Thats just one of the reasons that I hooked up the co2 to the powerhead. I woke up this morning and there is a white/clear film or skin like stuff that is sticking to all the plants that are in any kind of curent, like they are catching it. Also, the one otto I had in there was dead. Is that stuff co2 "scum"? Do I have too much co2 doing in with little, small unastablished plants?
Thanks for your help!
EDIT: Well I checked my PH and is was at 7.2 Yesterday is was at 6.4-6.8 I guess I answered this one. The white film was from the surface of the water. I guess I didn't have enough disturbance on the surface. I just aimed my spray bar up more and there goes more scum! Maybe I will try 2bps until the plants start growing and I get more plants... Thanks all!
