PPS-Pro + Glut without Co2
Thanks for such a great forum. I have learned quite a bit over the last month but have a few remaining questions that I hope you can help answer.
I have a 75 gallon moderately planted tank that is approximately 80% stocked. The substrate is eco-complete, pH is stable at 7-7.2 with very soft water (1kh/1gh). I have added marble to the tank to slowly raise and buffer the pH (started at 6.4pH) over the last two weeks. Lighting on the tank is single 48" Ray 2 DS which I believe puts the tank at medium light when considering the glass top and water.
Goals and Questions
My goal is like most, to have healthy plants, fish and a (mostly) algae-free tank. I understand that to achieve optimal results, I would need to increase light and inject co2, however, I would like to avoid co2 for the time being and see what results I can achieve without. I am willing to deal with some algae and stunted plant growth.
My question is that I am considering adding fertilizers via the PPS Pro method + adding Excel/glutaraldehyde but I believe the dosage calculations are based on co2 injection (1 bps?). Can anyone provide guidance on how to scale back the fertilizers appropriately to compensate for the lack of co2? Glutaraldehyde will be dosed based on Seachem's recommendation of 5ml per 50G.
Please let me know if there is anything more you need to know. Thank you for the help and guidance.
