Excel is meant to be dosed on a daily basis.

The half life makes it so you are supposed to dose daily. Some people dose 1.5 to 2x the amount, but I don't know if that is needed. Remember to base your dosing on the actual water in your tank and not the tank size. So if you have substrate and rocks, it will be lower.

I do not dose extra after a big water change even though I think you are supposed to. I actually don't dose on water change days at all because I don't know what time I will be doing the water change and it could be a waste.

That's what I thought I have been dosing it every morning for the past few weeks and everything seems to be loving it except my jungle Val

It's definitely not made for Vals. I've read some mosses as well, but my java moss seems to be doing alright

Excel works fine with the spiral Vals I have, at about twice the recommended dose. I dose 10 ml for about 50-60 gallons, every day. When the competitor to Excel tested their new product, comparing it to Excel, their test results showed that the 5X initial dose was what damaged Vals, not the daily dose.
Termato and Termato like this.
