What Temperature should I keep my tank?

I have a 55 gallon planted tank with red cherry shrimp, white cloud, neon tetras and Otto catfish.

It seem that most of the animals like a colder environment except for the otto catfish.

I was thinking maybe 71 degrees ?

Seems like the catfish is the odd fish out here as far as temperature. I don't know about the plants temperature.

According to Liveaquaria.com

Red Cherry shrimp 60-80 F
Neon Tetra(Jumbo) 68-74 F
White Cloud: 64-72 F
Otto catfish: 74-79 F

Plants:
JAVA Moss
Banana plant
Golden Jenny
Red Ludwigia
Ammannia
Argentine Sword
Betta plant
Anacharis Bunch
Moneywort

Thanks.

The temperature ranges given by Liveaquaria.com are not all accurate. Neon tetras and white-clouds do well at higher temperature ranges upto 80 F.

The plants will not be affected and the best range of temperature for this tank would be 74-78 F.

Try 73-74. Nice middle ground, plus the cherry shrimp will breed better in this temp. The white clouds actually do well in this temp even though they're listed lower in your post. The plants should be fine too.

PS Ha ha, it's so funny I posted my reply then essabee's showed up.

I've had bad luck with neons in my warmer tanks that I keep around 80 degrees. Recently started keeping them in a tank thats about 77 degrees and have had good l uck.

I think 75 or so would be a good starting point for the OP and then adjust as necessary.
