Good long lasting root tabs

Does anyone know of a company that makes good long-lasting root tabs? it would be nice not to have to put in root tabs every month.

Thanks!

Your best bet is to go on ebay and but Osmocote+ root tabs, they are fairly inexpensive, and you could even make your own if you wanted, i got 50 or 100 for like 5 dollars
morfeeis and morfeeis like this.

How long do the osmocote tabs last

I checked, there is the outdoor and indoor osmocote +. Does one matter over the other?

I honestly am not too familiar with how to make them, I'm sure someone here knows how. They are time release fertilizer so,how long they last depends on,multiple factors

Osmocote Plus is the one most often suggested- It has micros (trace elements) and macros.
When they are packed into a gel capsule and placed deep in the substrate they can last quite a while.
If there is more water movement through the substrate they release the fertilizer faster- Use fewer of them, and replace them more often.

A solid 3-4 months has been my experience with Osmocote Plus.

Check the for sale forum here, lots of people sell them.

What about TetraPond LilyGro Aquatic Plant Food Tablets ? Anyone ever use those? They are not that expensive for 75 of them compared to some of the other companies that charge like $1 a tablet.

The advice you have already been given is good advice. Osmocote tabs are the way to go and you can order them from members on this forum under the For Sale section. Mine typically last four months and I got 300 of them for $20.00. I seriously doubt you're going to find a better deal from a commercial source.

Or you can buy 00 empty gel capsule and Osmocote+ at your gardening store but I find walmart the cheapest place to get it. Then you can make your own and have an endless supply of it.
