natural gh and kh raiser?

i'm looking for ways to raise gh and kh of RO water so that I can cut tapwater from my tank completely. suggestions?

GH Boosters, like Seachem Equilibrium, will raise the GH with an acceptable amount of both calcium and magnesium. Plain baking soda, sodium bicarbonate, will raise the KH. Get a good GH/KH test kit, preferably not a API brand, because the API GH test kit is not a very good one. Use that to determine how much of each of the above to add.

when you say not to use api test kit do you mean the strips or the drops? I dont know of any other brand that sells drop test kits

My GH and KH drop test kits are Hagen.

For identification, the Hagen test kits are generally sold under the Nutrafin brand, at least in the States...

It's a bit more expensive than the API one.. ($8.99 at ken's fish vs $5.98 for the API one. Amazon has a large price disparity...)..
