Root tabs and high-tech

I did a quick search and didn't see anything.

How often do you need to add new root tabs in a high-light tank? I a sure they will get used up faster the higher your light.

I plan on buying a couple hundred osmocote pills i found online to stock my tank for a while.. At $5.00 I figure if it works or not, its better than nothing. I also plan on buying a pack of flourish tabs and splitting my tank in half with osmocote in one half and flourish tabs in the other and seeing which does better.

From personal experience Ive come to the conclusion that osmocote+ lasts about 5-6 months. Some people say replace after 2-3 or 4.

If you only have a few stuck around a couple plants then replacing them sooner is probably fine. But if you have the whole tank loaded up with lots of it, probably best to wait a little longer because there is a such thing as over doing it.
