EI or PPS-PRO fert dosing?

I plan to buy greenleafaquariums fertilizer package, however i am a newbie to all this so i want to know what would be better for a beginner? EI or PPS-PRO? I dont want to have to fiddle with the exact amounts, or have to do crazy water changes because i dosed too much, if anyone could help it would be awesome!

You are going to have to pick one or the other IMO... You can't have the best of both worlds.

I would say the EI is best because you don't have to worry about exact amounts. It DOES require that you do the large water changes though.

what i meant by exact amounts was having to change the amount of ferts i dose all the time, i have no issue with weighing the ferts down to the gram

I have been using PPS pro for about 6 months. 7ml of micros, 7ml macros every day. Water change once per week. Pretty easy. Pic of tank in my build thread.

Hi sohankpatel,

I have done both PPS Pro and EI dosing and strongly prefer EI dosing. It may not be as easy as PPS Pro and I have to do weekly water changes (which is good for fish health anyway) but the results are much better with EI dosing.

10 gallon; no co2 (use Excel); EI dosing; 2X10 watt CFL
