EI doubt

Hi!

I'm considering using the EI to fertilize my plants. I've read that the three main macro nutrients are Potassium Nitrate (KNO3), Monopotassium Phospate (KH2PO4) and Magnesium Sulphate (MgSO4). My question is if it possible to do the EI method with potassium chloride (KCl) and using other nutrients (which ones?) to complement it.

Thanks!

Yes you can do that. There are calculators online that can help you choose what you want to dose and give you a ppm of each element you are adding.

I use K2SO4 instead of KCL for added K. I also believe that standard EI does not include MgSO4. I have this one as well but never really use it (never have Mg deficiencies).

Here is what I think most people (including myself) use:
Macros:
KNO3
K2SO4
KH2PO4

Micros:
CSM+B

IMO unless you have med-high light and CO2 you do not need to dose full EI. Don't know what your setup is but you don't need to dose that much unless you have a lot of plants and are running CO2 and good amount of light. In my high tech I dose full EI and in my low tech I neglect it and dose 1/2 EI maybe once every week or two.

Thanks.

I have a dense planted tank with DIY CO2 and 2x39w for 100 liters (=26 gallon).

In this calculator (https://www.thenutrientcompany.com/a...ei_calculator/) I get this result for a 1000ml solution:

31g of Potassium Nitrate (KNO3)
12g of Monopotassium Phospate (KH2PO4)
*I'm ignoring Magnesium Sulphate (MgSO4) since I have a hard water.
(This two nutrients are enough?)

According to the calculator, I should apply 50ml 3x per week. Is this correct? This is only regarding macros. For micros in a 1000ml solution:

7,9g of trace nutrients and dosing 50ml 3x per week also.

Thanks for your help.

Not going to check your calculations but I used this to determine my dosing:

I just mix my dry ferts every day and dump them in the tank before I go to work

Thanks again.

By the way, which is the ppm reference value of NPK?

Is this ok?
N- 6.6ppm 3x per week = 19.8ppm
P- 1.2ppm 3x per week = 3.6ppm
K- 10.3ppm 3x per week = 30.9ppm
