Is my LFS right?

My lfs said to cycle my new 3 gallon nano by just letting it sit. I'm using AquaSoil Amazonia, an aquaclear 20 with standard contents, except I switched out the charcoal for Purigen, and it has a 7000k LED light. The ShrimpFarm people say to do 100% water change after 24 hours, again after another 24 hours, and 50% after another 12 hours, considering that Amazonia puts of huge amounts of ammonia. My lfs says that if I do that, I'll just be starting the cycle over and over again and it won't work. What's the right way to do this? Thanks!

Aquasoil leeches high amounts of ammonia at the start, which is why you do multiple pwc. If you don't it will cycle but it can take a lot longer.

Best off doing the pwc.

It won't start the cycle over and over again. I've left some tanks alone and others with lots of water changes. I've noticed no difference in cycle time.

If you do water changes do around 50% or so.
