In Boulder Creek?
I suppose well water, but I thought you folks got mostly surface water which is pretty soft.

KH vs Gh are also large differences in what type of hardness you have, might ask the utility what the General hardness is and the alkalinity.

They will have those posted on the tap water's web site.

Etc.

Says it's all very soft, like your surface water, Nov- May, surface, blend for the other months(now).

Total hardness, (not KH or GH really) is about 95-105 or thereabouts, pretty soft in other words.

You can add some Gh booster, say 1/2 teaspoon per 25 gal after a water change. If you want, you can call them for the Alkalinity(same as KH in this case).

That's GH, not KH.
So this is about 5 degrees of GH.
