24 hours and my tank is still cloudy white.....WHY???

So as the headline suggest. I need some help. M

24 hours ago I set up my 10 gallon Betta tank. And the water is still smokey white.

I have added water clarifier to the tank and I have the filter going but it's still white.

Here is the breakdown on the tank

10 Gallon

I used 50% of the water from my established 10 gallon planted tank to kickstart the cycle but I would have figured it would have cleared up a lot more than this after set up.

3 inches substrate of VERY WELL rinsed CaribSea FloraMax
Osmocote Plus under the substrate

2 pieces of Malaysian Driftwood (Boiled for about an hour each)

I have some Anubius Nana, Anacharis, and Windelof Java fern.

Cheapo heater that cam with an old kit I had

Fluval U2 (took out the Carbon pads and replaced one side with both filter sponges and the other half with Purigen and the the BIOMAX in the center cartridge.

Marineland Hidden LED Strip Light

1 Half moon Betta
9 Neon Tetras and
2 assassin snails

White/milky water is usually bacteria bloom indicator.

Best to do 80--90% wc if your new water can be adjusted very close to existing in tank water. I would do this 2x weekly until gone. The white cloud is not bad in and of itself, but it will produce an excess of ammonia once those bacteria all die(which they will).

Something happened to allow a big source of waste (probably ammonia) that bloomed bacteria. These bacteria will eat all of the waste, then die, creating more waste. Best to get them out physically.
