Getting into high tech.

I'd like to start dosing dry ferts, with the ei dosing thinger.

I'm currently doing a standard 10 gallon

I understand co2, how to measure it, and have my diy generator keeping my tank at ~30 ppm (according to gh kh tests)

My light is 36 par at 12 inches according to http://current-usa.com/is-the-satell...bright-enough/..... And my substrate is 3 inches. So I suppose the actual par would be in the 40s?

But I just cannot wrap my head around the dry ferts for some reason. I feel like it's REALLY simple, but there seems to be so many different ones.... What do I use?

I want to buy a batch of dry ferts from NilocG. The question is WHAT? Help me learn to dose dry ferts.

It's not like my plants are doing bad or anything (As I currently just cram osmocote plus tabs in) but I want them to do BETTER. I want them to EXPLODE like the tanks I've seen here!

Buy Monopotassium Phosphate (kH2PO4)

Potassium Nitrate (KNO3)

Plantex CSM+B

Dose according to PlantBrain

I have an 80 gallon. Starting with 50% water change, I dose

3/4 tsp. KNO3 and 1/4 tsp. KH2PO4

Next day, 1/4 tsp. Plantex CSM+B

Same alternating for next four days, Saturday rest, start over Sunday after 50% water change. You will need to figure out how to cut my dosage down for your size tank.

Hope this helps a little.

I have no idea what plantbrain is. Googling plantbrain comes up with a Final Fantasy boss. Lol.

To get started could I just order this kit of micros and macros....? http://nilocg.com/diy-ei-liquid-fertilizer/

Order the fertilizer individually (one bag of each.)

Google Tom Barr EI dosing planted tanks, should be tons of posts - he knows what he is doing.

Awesome, thanks. Suddenly I understand everything (mostly)

So, following his dosing regime + my current light + ~30 ppm co2 and all will be well, right?

Also, do I NEED the GH booster? My tap is liquid rock, and I usually just add that to my tanks when I notice it's a bit low since I use a mixture of ro/di and tap in all my tanks. Water comes out of the faucet at 700 tds.... Lol.
