Is chelated copper safe?

Can I add chelated copper to a tank?

It's part of a micronutrient mix I'm looking at.

All good trace mixes should have copper. It should only be a small amount, i.e. Plantex at 0.09%.

Its a big no no here to if you want inverts, the trace fertilizers though have concentrations low enough to be safe, just dont go out and start putting pennies in your tank lol.

It was the effect on the inverts - a big part of the SW reef - that had me wondering.
Glad to know the level of Cu is low enough, though.
Can't have a planted tank without some amano's, flower shrimp & RCS' !

Freshwater inverts are somewhat sensitive to Copper, particularly shrimp, but they're not so sensitive that you have to avoid trace amounts as fertilizer. Just don't overdose the micros.

Copper-based meds are still a big no-no with most freshwater inverts they can take traces but not large doses like Cupramine dosing...
