Placing a cover on my tank
I have 3 amano shrimp that I really want to keep in the tank (20H). I have had 2 jump out in the past.
So, today I bought a Lexan (kind of like plexiglass) sheet and cut it to fit on my tank. I cut two, 1 inch diameter holes in the center to help with gripping it when i need to remove the cover. I have 2 HOB filters, one on each end.
1) Do I need to be concerned about gas exchange? Should I be worried about stale air forming above the water surface?
2) The cover has been on for about an hour and there is still a fog covering the surface. I hope this will go away as the cover reaches equilibrium with the tank temperature. If it does not, how much of an impact is this going to have on my lighting (i.e. significant or negligible).
3) Any other concerns I should be aware of with a tightish fitting cover?
Thanks for any input.
