Plants not growing as quickly

My plants have stopped growing as fast and I am trying to figure out why. I dose Flourish Excel every other day but thats it for ferts right now. (I am reading up so I have a plan before I start regular dosage- aside from Excel)
Here are my parameters:

1/2/2009
Nitrate <5.0
Nitrite 0
Ammonia <.25
CO2 8ppm
PH 7.4
KH 8

I noticed CO2 is way down from normal...20-25ppm. I have just added a filter so I think the water movement has caused the problem.

Anything else that seems weird to you more experienced plant keepers? Any suggestions would be great! also, does anyone know where to find a converter for C02 bubble counters that shows how many bubbles a second increase the ppm per 10 gallons?

Thanks all!

Why do you expect your plants to grow when you don't give them the nutrients they need to do it?

Gotta agree here. You need to add macro and micro nutrients.

Also what kind of co2 system do you have going on and how are you measuring the co2 in there?

Well, I have been reading "furiously" to make sure I don't start a huge algae problem by putting too many ferts in! It is my first planted tank so I don't wanna screw it up. I have a 20 lbs co2 bottle and it is sent into a "reactor". I measure it by using the KH and PH chart.

Do what I did with my first trial of fertilizers a few months ago. Dose high phosphates and no co2 with lots of light! That'll let you live with a bunch of GSA!

Without Algae, death of mankind would be inevitable.
