DIY CO2 & ph issues

I am using DIY CO2 also.

Before:

PH = 7.4, KH = 130ppm/7.28dKH

After 2 hours:

PH = 6.8, KH = 140ppm/7.84dKH

Is this normal???

If not, what do I do?

Difference in KH is not significant.
Test error/user error is easily in that range.

Difference in pH is real, and that is pretty good, for DIY CO2. Looks like you are getting plenty of CO2 into the water.

A 0.6 drop in pH when CO2 is added means you have 4 times the ppm of CO2 you started out with. (10 to the .6 power) If you had about 3 ppm of CO2 from the atmosphere you ended up with 12 ppm. For a low light tank that is good, but for higher light intensity it is probably not adequate.
