What Should I Be Dosing?

Hi Everyone!
I am still reletivley new to planted tanks and I have a questions regarding ferts and any other plant supplememnts. I'm currently dosing my tank with excel (rarely), and flourish at half a capful twice a week as suggested on the back of the bottle, however recently I have been seeing a lot of posts from people saying they dose daily. Is there any benefits to dosing daily as opposed to twice weekly?

Setup is as follows
35g (36" x 12.5" x 19")
Lighting: 1 Dome CFL, and a 10" strip light (not sure what type of bulb its running)
Substrate: 2" Pool Filter Sand
CO2: DIY for 20g (may add another system to bring it up to the full 35g)
Dosing: Flourish - twice a week, and excel - once every couple weeks, I also have root tabs.

I currently have the following plants
Rotala
Hairgrass
Hygro
Val
Bleheri Sword
Crypt (Wendtii?)
Dwarf Sag

All the plants seem to be doing well, but is there anything else I should be dosing for this setup?
Thanks everyone.

The dosing recomendations on the back of the bottle don't provide enouge of what the plants need on an ongoing basis.

Excel is a carbon source that has a finite life span of around 24 hrs according to Seachem. Excel should be dosed daily.

Most people (including me) move to dry ferts over the commerical because of the ammounts needed of the commerical products, dry ferts are just so much more cost effective in the long run.

Here's a thread that details the EI dosing method: https://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=517945

A caculator you can use to see just how much commerical product vs dry you'd need to use to provide your plants with what they need: http://rota.la/

Some dosing recipies: https://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=647697

This member sells dry ferts as well as pre mixed solutions, the better deal by far: https://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=690881

I got mine here though: http://greenleafaquariums.com/

You don't sound like you have that much light in there. Look on the
calculator for a place which says "And I am dosing for" and select EI
Low light/Weekly for a reduced amount of the ferts.

The shortest distance between any two points is a straight line...in the opposite direction...
