Peat moss in a canister

I'm setting up my new 55g and I got my 1st canister filter an eheim classic. I got some peat moss to put in it for my Angel fish. I know this is a noob question but what order do you put the media in. Do I put the peat moss in 1st 2nd 3rd, let it take the carbon spot on top? And does Purigen cancel out the peat? It kinda seems counter productive.

Purgin, from what I understand, only removes the coloring the peat will stain the water with, I may be wrong on that though.

Were it I I'd put it in place of the carbon layer.
