I've got a 75 gallon tank with 2x external filters (XP3, Mag350), timer based CO2 with a glass drop checker, flourite and 12x10W LEDs that are run around 50-60% of max at present. Decently loaded and fed with BN plecs (25+ juvis) and 30-40 neons, platies, barbs and cats. Good on algae at present. Anubias, java fern, crypts, marsilea ground cover and a few stems.
I've got a marine magic 3 head peristaltic dose pump. One for KNO3, one for KH2PO4, one for trace. GH booster (P added) added weekly @ WC at the rate of 2 tbsp. Baking soda for KH.
I'm working toward changing the fert jugs every ~105 days (based on max speed pf 0.5-0.6 ml/sec, 2 minute run time and my three 2 gallon fert jugs). Should have a pump life span of 16+ years.
Using the 60-80 gallon EI dosing chart, I'm looking at a weekly dose of:
- 2.25 tsp of KNO3
- 0.5625 tsp of KH2PO4
- 0.75 tsp of trace (Plantex CSM +B)
Divide by 7 (days/week) and multiply by the 105 days from above and I've got a dose of:
- 11.27 tbsp of KNO3
- 2.82 tbsp of KH2PO4
- 3.76 tbsp of trace (Plantex CSM +B)
So my questions are:
- Does that look right?
- I've got muratic acid from Lowes, how much should I add to the fert bottles (esp. the trace) to prevent mold build-up?
- Other thoughts / comments appreciated
