Homemade Root Tabs

How effective are home made root tabs compared to those made by companies like Seachem and API? The reason I ask is because I found some on eBay for real cheap, but I don't want my fish to be hurt by them. Can anyone look these over and give me some thoughts? Thanks!

Thanks for the info. So why would anyone spend the extra money on those when I can get 60 of the homemade ones for $4.50?

Its just unknown, and people who are just stepping in dont want to try sketchy stuff. They stick with the big brands. But I've switched, and started selling my own. 120 for $10.
