Non aquatic plant fertilization with aquatic life?

So I was a retard and chipped a tank. Decided to go glass half full and its going to be marine with a Styrofoam shelf and background holding a dune with some saltwort perhaps. Im really reaching for ideas, cant find anything like it out there. Saltwort or pickleweed is salt tolerant and can deal with flooding. Just an idea. But my problem is, how the eff can I effectively fertilize pool sand and crushed rock for the plants? Mix hydroponic fertilizers with the sand? I mean I expect I cant throw miracle grow in with puffer/crabs/snails, etc. Any ideas, deconstrctive criticism? The planter will be waterproof, seperate from the water column. (As much as possible) Thanks in advance.

Use fertilizer tablets for planted tanks deep in the soil volume part of the set up.
I would not trust most garden fertilizers for this.

I use agricultural grade materials in my low end brackish tank. KNO3, KH2PO4, K2SO4 and CSM+B.
