Is Flourish Trace useless?

I currently use Flourish (comprehensive) for micro every other day with my EI dosing. Is Flourish Trace a waste of time and $$$ or is there benefit to dosing the two in conjunction?

Is it really just a watered down comp without the small amount of macros (seems to be that way...)? Anyone have any experience one way or the other?

Funny you should ask that. Yesterday, I PMed this to another member who was asking the same thing.

This is a side by side comparison of Plantex, Comprehnsive and trace.
Code:
Element Plantex Comprehensive (6ml)	Trace (10ml)
B 0.061 0.014 0.007
Cu 0.007 0.0 0.008
Fe 0.5 0.5 0
Mg 0.107 0.172 0
Mn 0.143 0.018 0.022
Mo 0.004 0.001 0.001
Zn 0.028 0.001 0.045
It seems to me that Flourish comprehensive is a better trace mix. It does lack manganese but I doubt this would ever cause issues. I use Plantex but if I had to choose between comprehensive or trace I would go with comprehensive.

Both Flourish comprehensive and Flourish trace provide more non-essentials than Plantex. However, Plantex has been used by so many professional aquascapers with positive results I doubt the extras are needed. So it's a moot point IMO.

I just ordered a bag of plantex CSM+B before reading this post. Seems like the more economical / foolproof way to go about dosing micros vs. fiddling around with dilute Seachem products...

I don’t think you’ll go wrong with plantex or comprehensive, or both like I do. I alternate them every day. But I just don’t see the benefit of the trace on its own. The seachem comp is an awesome product, if you compare it to “plant nutrition” or “tropica master grow” TMG, from Tropica, a world reknown aquatic plant fertilizer available mostly in Europe, seachem comp still offers more.
