dosing over a few days vs dosing once a week.

Why don't people dose all in one shot? Do we need to spread it out over the whole week?

I get dosing micros and macros on different days but why 3 days each?

1) A daily routine helps some people remember to do it, and is more convenient (somehow) for some.

2) It helps prevent fluctuating nutrient levels...by simply adding a little everyday.

I dose iron once weekly and K+ weekly right after my 50% WC. I dose excel on a daily basis due to it's effect on certain plants and fish in high doses.

The fastest way to success is patience.

Best,

Joe

I usually dose 1x or 2x a week in low light tanks and daily in high tech tanks.

Macros can be dosed weekly if using non-limiting amounts. However, many of the trace elements, including iron, won't last for more than a couple of days. This is the primary reason chelation is used.

I dose the 6 days on, one day off of the EI method. I am looking into PPS however. I'm sick of the WC and constant ferts, and such fast growth isn't necessary for me unless I am trying to establish a carpet.

Excel daily and Iron whenever my red plants start to fade, usually once or twice/week.

The wheel turns.
