Best root tabs on the market?

I'm in the market for some root feeders and was wondering what is currently recommended.

I'm not impressed with seagrams and have finally run out. I have read that the new Osmocote + doesn't contain calcium sulphate any longer and rootmedic tabs no longer exist. So now I'm wondering what to get/make.

I have seen ebay listings that appear to be the old Osmocote + which if they don't go bad, might be an answer.

Big fan of the Pferts tabs. Root feeders, bulbs, always had great results with their product.

Just checked out Pferts. $13.44 lowest shipping option to Colorado. That seem insane for root tabs. That's $27 for 20 tablets.

Just seems like a bit much.

The cheap route is to buy a pack of Jobes plant sticks from HD or Lowes. You just have to break them up into pieces and bury them really well b/c they can release ammonia and trigger algae blooms if you don't.

You do have to pay more for ferts that won't do that.

Some people buy Osmocote Plus and gel caps and make their own root tabs, as well.

Didn't Pfertz go out of business?

I made 200 osmocote gel caps for $15. I don't see how a $1 per tab could really be that much better.

Looks like these aren't the original Pfertz formula. Any other tried and true methods that haven't gone out of business or been altered?

Osmocote Plus root tabs are the best by far in my opinion, where are you located in Colorado? I'm in Denver, and can hook you up with 100-200 original Osmocote Plus root tabs, and 100-200 new Osmocote Plus w/out calcium root tabs for free!!! I have around 2,000 old and new Osmocote Plus root tabs already made up because of the Amazon Sword in my tank has leaves bigger than my whole hand so it's a really heavy feeder.

I believe the original owners stoped production because of health problems. It was literally a mom and pops business and once the guy got really sick they had to shut it down so it wasnt due to the product being bad (in my opinion the BEST product back then) Not sure how its run/made now though. Id also like to know more about it if anyone has tried em out.

Pfertz is back up now under new ownership. There is an issue with procuring the root tabs which they are in the process to solve. It's matter of when....
