How to Lower the Iron Content in Water

I know this would sound counter-intuitive for planted tanks, but I would like to know what is the best way to decrease the iron level in a planted tank. I made a massive gravel vacuuming as a solution to my algae problem (see my other thread) and a lot of the laterite granules have come up at the top of the substrate. And I think this is the one causing the increasing iron level in my tank. When I last tested the water, the iron level is around 6 ppm. I would like to keep it at 0.2 ppm.

Appreciate all your help.

I would just keep doing water changes to remove as much iron as possible (assuming your tap water does not have high levels of iron, of course).

thanks. wc seems to be the cheapest way to go about it (i was thinking of some resin or iron neutralizing liquid). i checked again the iron after not dosing for a couple of days and it is down to 0.91ppm. i checked my tap and there is none 0.01 ppm.
