does this sound right? modified ei dosing for low tech tank.

so from everything I have read and been told I have come to some final thoughts.

as for dosing I am going to try and do once a week dosage instead of standard dosage.

i am planning to cut the calculated amount by a 1/3rd of each. my end result is: 1/4tsp plantex csm+b (once a week), 1/16tsp kh2po4(once a week), and 1/2tsp kno3 (once a week).

i plan on doing my normal wc at the end of the week which is approx 7g per day over 3 days for a total of 21g wc. my actual tank volume after calculating for substrate volume is approx 60g. which means i am doing 33% wc a week.

Does this plan sound like a good starting point? I will be testing for nitrates to see how things go and will adjust accordingly.

I just want some reassurance that I am not WAY off the ball here.

I have also just recently upd the feeding schedule to once a day from once every other day.

tank light is the 48" finnex planted plus 16" above the substrate. temp is 80 and lights are on for 8 hours a day. WHat time of day should I be dosing the tank? right before lights on? or later or what? does it matter?

here is my tank as of recent

Are you dosing excel or injecting co2? The light may be a bit bright if you aren't. As for dosing the ferts, I like to dose 1 hour before the lights come on so that they're available when the lights are on and they have time to mix and disperse in the tank.

No c02 or excel. I was thinking about allowing my floaters to fill up more to help reduce some of the light as I think it might be a bit much but wasn't sure

That light probably gives off around 60 par at that depth so in my opinion it will cause algae issues with no co2 or excel. Easiest thing to do would be to raise it if possible or use some window screen under it to reduce the light a bit. Or you could let the floaters fill up like you said. How long has the tank been set up?
