can I put dry ferts right into the tank?

For example I want to dose macros on Monday and I need 1/4tsp of kno3 and 1/16 of kh2po4. Can I dump these amounts right into the water? Filter should remain on?

Or put a bit of water and mix a bit first to dissolve?

Either or.
I have done both, but fishes sometimes think the fertz are food and will eat it then spit it back out.
Normally,I mix them with a bit of tank or tap water.

As others have mentioned, either dry dosing directly or mixing it with a bit of water is fine.

Some people like to make a big liquid stock at once (perhaps they find it easier to dose a liquid, for whatever reason, or perhaps they have an automatic doser).
