Am I using the correct Ferts?

I have a 75 gallon, CO2 injected, heavily planted tank that I have been trying to dose EI but I'm not sure I have everything I need. The tank is overrun with hair algae. I'm going to do the one-two punch tomorrow. Right now, I have a BML red light but have a Dutch XB on order.

I have 4 Neons, 7 Rummynose Tetras, 6 White Cloud Minnows, shrimp, Nerites, MTS and tons of pond snails. UUGGG

I have well water with pH 5.5 and 0 everything else. Tank water parameters:
pH 7.5; hardness and alkalinity 9, ammonia, nitrites and nitrates 0. According to the drop checker, the CO2 is just under yellow but according to the chart, I don't have enough??

I'm adding: 3/4 tsp KNO3, 1/4 each of KH2PO4 and CSM+B.

Thanks for the help.

If you are adding 3/4 kno3 how can your tank water have 0 nitrates?

How long has the tank been running?
How much lighting do you have?

If you well has nothing for hardness are you adding anything? gh booster kh???

On the fert calculator, under "and I am dosing for" pick "the results of my dosing".
This allows you to use tsps. Then work it backwards. Put in 3/4 tsp and get your results. See if it puts you into where you want/need to be. Reduce or add as needed.
In the upper right hand corner you will see the reults in PPM.
Under K for example, the total is 13.28 ppm.
This link gives you the suggested amounts of each nutrient.
https://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...945&highlight=
Just add or subtract
on the next time you enter the amount of tsps to get it near the level suggested.
But remember...when you add two nutrients which have one of the same parts
like K2SO4 and KNO3...then you will need to add the results from both to get that total number suggested.
I was from NOLA before Katrina. Relatives from Pumpkin Center/Rosaryville.

The shortest distance between any two points is a straight line...in the opposite direction...

The tank has been running for about 1.5 months. The BML red light is not enough but I'm waiting for my Dutch XB to be sent. I don't know why I have 0 nitrates. What should it be? I'm used to koi ponds which are supposed to be at 0. I added Gh booster once but no more because it's up at 9 drops/160. Maybe the MTS soil?

Katrina has changed our world, for sure. Where do I find the fert calc?

Thanks for the link. I've read through it before but it's still over my head. LOL
