Need help with PH

Ok i have a PH of 8 and want it to go to 7. I use well water and have a watersoftener and right out of my sink the PH is 7.5 and in my tank its 8. Should i do a big waterchange to maybe get it from 8 to 7.5 or is there anything i can add into my water that will keep it at 7 for a while because i no its not good to keep messing with your PH so anything that will keep it at 7 for a while?

PH: 8
NO2: <.03
NH3 NH4: 0

What kind of a substrate do you have? What are the particulars of your tank and what are you trying to accomplish in the long run?

Ditto what ashappar said. Don't concern yourself too much with pH, it really isn't that important of a measure for a fish tank, particularly because it can be altered by inconsequential things. The general and carbonate hardness, along with total dissolved solids are the things to consider. Even then, you're typically much better off just accepting your water as it is.

One other thing is that if it is possible to obtain water prior to it going through the softener, that would be much better. Calcium and Magnesium, while nuisance for us, is actually quite beneficial; the salt typically used during the ion exchange process is more detrimental to the aquarium.
