Absolutely, I wouldn't have CO2 injection without one.

I bought mine from a guy in Singapore on eBay. Aquatic Magic would be a good eBay source also, I believe he's in Malaysia. Stateside sellers don't seem to have caught on yet, or possibly the import costs just don't allow them to be competitive. You could always go with the genuine ADA version, but it'll cost quite a bit more than eBay.

It doesn't have to be glass, though they're more attractive that way. Red Sea makes one out of plastic, and I know a member here used to make and sell them.

Ditto. If you're crafty you can make one for less than $2. You might already have the stuff in the house.

If you're going to be injecting CO2 I would consider a drop checker to be 100% absolutely essential.

I bought 2 from Blacksunshine, a member on this board. I'm not sure if he is still selling them though.

The 4dKH solution is as important as the checker, some don't come with solution, just indicator.

Make sure you get the 4dKH, or your checker won't be much use.

Very good point.

Some of those drop checkers even advise using tank water or distilled and that's definitely not what you'd want to use.

That package shown comes with Bromethyl Blue only. You will still need to have a 4KH solution to which you will then add 2~3 drops of the Bromethyl Blue.

The instructions listed are also totally wrong because you can't just add the Bro Blue to distilled 'water' and you certainly don't want to use tap at all.

See the link above for a prepped 4kh solution 'water' which is what you need to use. If you want to make your own then you can do that too but I don't suggest it, you will be opening up yourself for errors if you make a mistake and thats very easy to do.
